Times have
changed! Industries have changed. Suppliers have changed and
retailers have changed. Some of the changes are significant and some
are subtle, but all have an effect on business.
Manufacturers
who once only were involved in marketing programs for retailers have
become, in many instances, the competition. They not only make the
merchandise, but are now distributing not only their own merchandise
but related products as well and some are even trying to control
retail. How do traditional distributors and retailers adapt to this
new business model?
Customers have
dramatically changed their buying habits in the last couple of
decades. No longer does she trust the local retailer. The electronic
revolution has changed her forever. Being more knowledgeable,
shoppers know the kind service they deserve and won’t settle for
less. She will travel many miles to seek expert advice, better
selection, brand names and a sophisticated shopping environment.
Moreover, the internet provides convenience, pricing and service
heretofore not available and shoppers learn fast. Today less than
50% of sales take place at fixed
locations.
Retailers in
every industry are turning to retail merchandising groups in search
of experts who can help them deliver the service consumers are
demanding. In some industries, over 90% of the retailers are
affiliated with merchandising groups. Manufacturers have had to
adjust to this totally different marketplace. The sales and service
skills required to compete in this marketplace for manufacturers,
distributors and retailers are far more advanced. Warren Tyler is
equipped to teach these more sophisticated skills at all levels to
help you and your people thrive in this new
marketplace.
